American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. This course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. It is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course. Course card will be provided after successful completion of course.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in First Aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. It is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. Manual and course card will be provided after successful completion of course.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Please verify with your employer. It is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe students, provide feedback and give the students’ learning of skills. Manual and course card will be provided after successful completion of course.

Supersized Saturday Childbirth Class

If weekly birth classes don’t fit into your schedule, come to our supersized Saturday Childbirth Class. This all-day event will cover the same topics as the six-week class with the exception of newborn care and extensive breastfeeding instruction. You are encouraged to attend the Newborn Care evening class to fill in the gap. Though there won’t be as much time to practice during this fast track day, you will still acquire a huge amount of valuable information for your impending adventures in mommyhood. Spend a Saturday with us. You’ve got questions and we’ve got answers.

Feeding this new tiny baby will quickly become priority # 1 once your little darling emerges. Breastfeeding is nature’s perfect food for your newborn and will give your baby the healthiest nutritional start possible, the challenge is that sometimes breastfeeding is easy and sometimes it is not, but you can be prepared to succeed in either case. Breastfeeding can be very stressful and there are reasons why the process may be difficult. Fortunately there are also many ways to fix or prevent problems if you know how. We will discuss milk supply, pumping, sore nipples, infant problems, and maternal issues that can affect breastfeeding success. You may be wondering how to keep breastfeeding when you go back to work or how to handle feeding when you are sick or your baby is sick. We will address all your concerns and give you time to practice feeding techniques, holds, positioning, and recognizing a baby’s hunger cues. Any moms who would like more information or who have questions or who need support are invited.

Being pregnant and giving birth is a miraculous journey full of personal twists and turns along the way. Being educated and prepared will take a lot of the fear out the process. In this class, you will spend six weeks learning and preparing for your special delivery. If you are feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out what you need to know and do to prepare, this is the place for you. Every new mommy-to-be needs to know the most current information and timeless techniques of getting ready for baby to make his or her entry into the world as safe and soft as it can be. We encourage you to rally support during this unique time in your life. Bring along a partner to get prepared with you, whether it be the baby’s father, grandmother, friend, relative, or adoptive mother. You will receive a comprehensive workbook covering all the class material.
